This past week has been eventful for the veg team with 74mm of rain in 48 hours. We’ve unfortunately had to call a halt on harvesting of veg due to high water levels in the fields. We need to protect our teams, soil and crop hence why we are waiting for the fields to dry out and we endeavour to be back at it early next week.
Our livestock team have also been moving sheep to new pastures out of flooded fields. All good emergency planning is done on the bonnet of a pick up truck surely!! Here the team are discussing how we split a field of fodder kale to strip graze so we make the most of the food resource we have for the store lambs.
